Entries Open for the British Shooting Schools Pistol Championships

by Jim Newsome

The British Shooting Schools Pistol Championships is a brilliant competition, now in its third year, where youngsters from across the UK get together to shoot 10m air pistol for their schools. It is open to everyone, from novice through to experienced pistol shooter and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming for all, with range officers, coaches and more all there to support, inform and enthuse the shooters. I have taken teams and individuals to the competition in the past and this year, I am the the Regional Coordinator for the SE qualifying event, to be held at Woking High School on October 29th, 2019.

Whether you are a Pony Club Tetrathlete (two-handed shooting is allowed for the Junior class) or already a world class Junior, I cannot recommend entering this competition highly enough. It is a fantastic way for newcomers to try out shoulder-to-shoulder competitions in a simplified Olympic format as well as for more experienced pistol shooters to compete against their peers.

As the Regional Coordinator, I'm here to answer any questions from parents, Clubs and schools - just contact me.
